Video I Have Done About The Internet

This is a video i have done about the internet in a computer class last year at AUD. Thought of sharing it with everyone to show you the advantages of the internet breifly. Internet has changed our lives and we all know that, and has made the world interconnected. The Information Age we live in is happening due to the internet too. "The Internet will change how people live, work, play and learn. The Industrial Revolution brought people together with machines in factories, and the Internet revolution will bring together people with knowledge and information in virtual communities. And it will have every bit as much impact on society as the Industrial Revolution. It will promote globalization at an incredible pace. But instead of happening over 100 years, like the Industrial Revolution, it will happen over 100 years."
ADVANTAGES Of The Internet
  • Email. Email is now an essential communication tools in business. It is also excellent for keeping in touch with family and friends. The advantages to email is that it is free ( no charge per use) when compared to telephone, fax and postal services.
  • Information.
  • There is a huge amount of information available on the internet for just about every subject known to man, ranging from government law and services, trade fairs and conferences, market information, new ideas and technical support.
  • Services. Many services are now provided on the internet such as online banking, job seeking and applications, and hotel reservations. Often these services are not available off-line or cost more.
  • Buy or sell products. The internet is a very effective way to buy and sell products all over the world.
  • Communities. Communities of all types have sprung up on the internet. Its a great way to meet up with people of similar interest and discuss common issues.

I can never imagine our lives without the internet. We are completely reliant on it and have access to it every single day.

The Future Of Technology

FUNNY VIDEO

Since most of my blog posts have been serious and course related i decided to share this video called The Future Technology. Its kinda funny, and it seems like it has some kind of point it is trying to reach. The way i see it shows that it has a message to send out. So the discussion is if technology keeps updating every while and then and experiencing exponential growth then decline, it means this cycle will continue towards the future. Old technologies will go obsolete everytime a new innovation is created.  One of the most interesting things about technology is that you can never be quite sure where it will go. Yes, we expect computers to get faster and software to get more powerful, but how they would look like in 50 years is surely unpredictable. The Internet is a great example of this—it was around for a long time, but no one predicted how widespread it would get, or how quickly people would adapt to it and share their knowledge by using it as well as send messages where distance and time are not problems anymore.
Lets Wait And See.... It's Kind Of Scary Isnt It?

Example Of A PR Agency

JAG PRESS & PUBLICITY
This is an example of a PR agency. The video explains what type of services the agency provides. This PR agency provides a managed communication between a client and the public for a fee. It tries to help and improve the public image of the client by using many different strategies. It also describes what type of campaigns using what media they will offer. So they find the appropriate medium to deliver the messages and report the results of the effectiveness of the campaign. They develop strategies and implement them for the best results. They also talk about crisis management in which they could help improve the image of the client and limit the negative reputation. They also say that by using the 7 point crisis plan they can guarantee the success of limiting the negative consequences a client is facing. They also use social media to support clients.

Persuasive Advertisements

PEPSI COMMERCIAL
This is the Diet Pepsi TV commercial advertisement that uses two famous celebrtities Sofia Vergara and David Beckham.

Using celebrities in ads is a basic strategy for constructing persuasive messages and attracting the audience to consume the product. Featuring celebrities in advertisments has been a successful strategy used by advertisers since a long time. Such strategy is refered as a Sociocultural strategy that calls the audience's attention to a cultural requirement and urges the purchase of a particular product or try to persuade people to conform. So when we view or get exposed to these ads we get persuaded faster assuming that if we acquire that certain product, for example, we could be like that prestigious person. It is quiet expesive to get a celebrity endorsement, but bringing celebrities into an ad yeilds stronger ties between the viewers and causes greater sales for the product.

Al Jazeera Blamed...

AL JAZEERA TODAY

Every channel has its own encoding strategy and these encoding strategies can differ from one organization to another. Emphasizing certain news stories and selecting certain stories is one of these strategies. Another encoding strategy would be the journalistic style perferred by a particular news organization. Al Jazeera organize their daily agenda by focusing on one side of a story. They have been blamed for being too sensational and eroding the truth of a news story especially rescently due to the uprisings taking place in the Middle-East. They have been suspected of lacking objectivity in their news stories and broadcasting biased news. Many people have been criticizing the way they are reporting and covering the events. They have also been blamed of dessiminating any news they receive before making sure if it is true or not. Many employees at the organization resigned because of the lack of truthfulness in the channel and the bias in their dessimination as they say.
AL JAZEERA has a goal behind the strategies they follow, but one of these goals many are arguing could be capturing and holding the attention of the audience through this way.

Media bias: refers to the bias of journalists and news producers within the mass media in the selection of events and stories that are reported and how they are covered.
